• Excused absence – if you miss school because of illness, or you are participating in a school-approved activity, or bad weather.  Your parent/guardian must call the school to excuse your absence.  If no call is received within 48 hours, the absence becomes a truancy (unexcused absence).  It is your responsibility to ask for make-up work that was missed during the absence.

  • Unexcused absence – If you are unexcused, you may turn in late work and make-up tests missed during an unexcused absence, however, any late work will receive a lowered grade.

  • Truancies – scholars who are truant (skip school) will be allowed to make up their class work, however, no academic credit can be earned for work due on the day of the truancy.  Scholars who skip class will be given a consequence, such as detention or in-school suspension.

  • Tardies – If you are not seated in your assigned seat at the start of class, you are considered tardy.  Teachers will give consequences for being tardy.  If a scholar is tardy repeatedly, they will be referred to the office for discipline.  Tardiness over 10 minutes is considered a truancy (skipping).
